Alberta Ferretti’s Philosophy girl will be looking mighty polished. The designer focused on power-dressing with a side of softness for Fall 2012, and the result was ladylike, wearable, and plenty chic. For day, there were neatly tailored coats and belted suits in camel and Winter-white; for evening, there were crystal-embellished blouses and cocktail frocks in shimmering silver or dusky tray. Very feminine, very chic!

Enter her new film, Moonlight, which features an exquisite other-wordly feminine being embodied by who else but Kate Bosworth? She travels through various times and landscapes, aided and empowered by a distinct Vanessa Bruno uniform—one where sharply tailored silhouettes meet ladylike, delicate details (and a touch of futuristic embellishment).

Prada takes the retro Americana, auto-erotica vibe up a gear with their Spring 2012 campaign video. Natasha Poly, Meghan Collison, Elise Crombez, Guinevere van Seenus, Ymre Stiekema and Katryn Kruger are cruising at the gas station, the car radio tuned to the collection’s nostalgic garage-inspired style, picking up snippets of Duck and Cover, Tobacco, Sleigh Bells and Ariel Pink. Photographer Steven Meisel has given the models (four wheeled and two legged) the high gloss wax and shine treatment so those jewel tones and pimped-out accessories really sparkle on film.

Chanel couture shows are always, without fail, breathtaking embodiments of the word ‘show’. And the Spring 2012 couture presentation was just that – fantastical, decadent and just generally amazing. No expenses were spared as an airplane cabin was replicated on the runway, complete with mock windows and overheard luggage compartments. A cockpit was even revealed at the end of the show as Karl Lagerfeld, who played the pilot, came out to take his bow.
